Level of Awards – There are four levels of award recognition – Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Best of Show.
Top Agency Award – Top Agency award is given to the best-performing companies in both quality and quantity. All must have earned at least one gold award and performed exceptionally well throughout.
Trophies and Certificates – Winners may purchase custom-made trophies and vellum certificates. Trophies and certificates are an excellent way to thank clients, reward members of your creative team, and to physically celebrate your achievement and success. To ensure entry fees remain affordable to all entrants, there is a fee for trophies and vellum certificates. To order trophies and certificates, visit the store section of the awards’ site.
Digital verification certificate – The Summit Awards provides a digital verification certificate of your winning achievement. To access, log in to the Summit Awards entry platform, download, and print.
Publicity Tools – The Summit Awards encourage winners to publicize their achievements in their media channels. To aide in efforts, the Summit Awards provides marketing tools – press templates, logos, web icons, trophy graphics, and examples of media coverage. Find these valuable tools at our main marketing website under /winners/publicity-tools. Additionally, the Summit Awards publishes many winning firm’s social posts on its winner’s blog as reposts in social media and other channels.
Winners are welcome to use the Summit Award’s name, logo, icons, and trophy images in promotional efforts. To request a quote for use in promotional materials, simply email a draft to email@example.com for prior authorization. Winners should also keep connected and direct traffic to their own website by hyperlinking their company’s site to the Summit Award’s website.
Social Exposure – The Summit Awards will magnify your buzz so join our extensive networks. Be sure to ‘like’ and ‘follow’ us on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest so we can receive alerts and retweet, share, forward, etc. tag them with #summitawards and #summitcreativeaward.
Association – Winners are welcome to use the Summit Award’s name, logo, icons, and trophy graphics in their promotional efforts, however, be sure to correctly-link to the award’s main website, www.summitawards.com. Winner Microsites – The Summit Awards is the only recognition organization that offers winners their own user-controlled, Summit Awards-hosted website profile. These new and improved profiles are rich with features including portfolio linking, image gallery-hosting, and a built-in WYSIWYG editor for easy control and updating. These are proven successful promotional tools. The back-end controls are robust with an SEO manager and a meta tag generator to increase search engine ranking. Additionally, creating a winner profile is an opportunity to benefit from free publicity thanks to the high volume of traffic on the Summit Award’s website.
Participants – There were more than 4100 submissions in the 2020 Summit Creative Award, coming from 27 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, India, Republic of Korea, Kuwait, Malta, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Poland, Singapore, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, and the United States.
Board of Judges – We would like to extend a thank you to those serving on this year’s Summit Award judging panels. These discriminating professionals volunteered their time to scrutinizing submissions and without their dedication and hard work, the awards would not hold the prestige it enjoys today.
This year’s panel of judges included professionals representing Australia, Brazil, Canada, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Sweden, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States.
This US-based organization, pilots three separate awards – the Summit Creative Award, Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award, and the Summit Emerging Media Award. It is not tied to an advertiser, magazine, trade association, ad club, or other outside influence. The Summit Awards is independent, and international in its scope, and focuses on identifying superior creative and effective marketing. It conducts impartial, ‘blind’ judging events and, once completed, recognizes, celebrates, and promotes creative, effective marketing on behalf of winning companies and individuals. Its judging process is impartial and free from outside influences. It withholds both the names of the judges and entrants throughout the entire evaluation process. This anonymity shelters all involved from any vested interest that may attempt to influence the award’s outcome.
Under our bylaws, the Summit Awards limits the number of winning entries. Period. This capping of awards ensures your win remains a coveted-honor and protects our quarter-century reputation.

Since 1994, the Summit Creative Award has been enabling creative firms to receive the recognition they deserve. This international award offers its entrants a unique opportunity to showcase their talents alongside similarly positioned firms, and to have their work judged by experts in the advertising field. Its exclusive blind judging and award-selection process means winners have earned the right to broadcast their achievements far and wide. Companies and individuals from more than 59 countries and across five continents have participated in this prestigious 26-year competition. The Summit Creative Award aims to laud the creative work of less-than-huge agencies and make entry affordable and accessible. It offers streamlined internet submissions, many ways to tout winners’ achievements, and friendly staff with an understanding of the marketing sector.

Why winning matters
Today, many businesses and entrepreneurs are facing the challenges of an increasingly global economy and a do-it-yourself marketplace. While many have invested in initiatives to maintain stability or to grow, it is increasingly difficult to differentiate your company’s beneficial differences.

How many categories are there? 86 categories in nine parent segments.
How many entries competed? There were more than 4100 creative submissions.
What are the judging criteria? Each category employs slightly different judging criteria, however, broadly, the following are the Summit Creative Award judging criteria:
- The strength of Concept/Ideation/Big Idea (originality and uniqueness of approach, message targeting, and honing, the synergy between concept, copy, and layout/execution) 1-40 pts.
- Quality of Execution (How well the idea was executed (visual appeal, the tone of voice, chosen media, placement, etc.) 1-20 pts.
- Ability to Persuade (How well did the creative move the target audience closer to the action or encourage a change in thoughts) 1-20 pts.
- Judges PowerPoints (used at the discretion of judges to boost certain submissions which they identify as exemplary – 0-5 pts.
How selective is winning? This year there were approximately 4% bronze, 4% silver, 1.75% gold, and .001 best of show.
Is there an “acceptance fee” to be a winner? No. The Summit Awards is not one of those award programs. Once you win, you have won. Take advantage of all of the benefits of being a winner: bragging rights, winner-controlled, Summit-hosted microsites, publicity tools, and association with the quarter-century-old Summit Awards. However, we do have bling for those who want it.
Who may order an award trophy? Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Best of Show winners are eligible for trophies.
Who may order vellum certificates? Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Best of Show winners are eligible to order mailed, vellum certificates.
What competitions are conducted by the Summit Award? The Summit Awards organization conducts three competitions annually:
- The Summit Creative Award – Recognizes creative excellence in companies and individuals with billing under $30 million. Includes all media and industries.
- The Summit Marketing Effectiveness Award – A unique competitive arena where the judging criteria are based on the true purpose of marketing communications; to influence the consumer’s knowledge, attitudes, and beliefs. Creative samples and a short brief are included in the evaluation.
- The Summit Emerging Media Award – Created to identify the world’s communication pioneers. Those pushing the bounds of the communication badlands. All forms of emerging media are explored and examined.
Level of Award Winners – Winners received the rank of Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Best of Show awards.
