Ishan’s 25+ year career has spanned branding and advertising companies such as JWT, Ogilvy & Mather, Leo Burnett and Vickers & Benson. He has been involved in the marketing and development of several international brands such as McDonald’s, Kellogg’s, Bata, P&G, Unilever’s personal products categories, Walls ice-cream, Maxwell House coffee, Levi’s, The Bank of Montreal, TD Bank and Berger Paints.
As head of Strategic Planning at The Brand Factory, his previous company, Ishan, focused on what he branded as ‘Brandcasting’ - the way branding will be done in the future, in the world of emerging technologies and media. He also developed a planning process, branded as ‘The Idea Machine’ and ‘Brand DNA’ models. These proprietary tools are based on the principle of building your brand to build business.
Ishan has an executive MBA from Queens University, Canada and lectures in Branding at the Rotman School of Management, as part of the MBA program. He is a frequent speaker at several forums such as the Canadian Institute, Conference Board of Canada, The Indo- Canadian Chamber of Commerce, etc and conducts workshops on Consumer Marketing and Insights for several organizations. He is also a frequent commentator in many journals in the marketing industry and occasionally writes a column providing tips in branding in Strategy Magazine and is on the expert commentator panel of the Toronto Star for real estate. Ishan is on the founding jury of Canada’s Next Top Ad Executive, a program that bridges academia and the industry. He has been on the judging panel of the prestigious real estate Georgie Awards for the last 6 years.</p>
